We are excited to announce new ensemble names and singing opportunities for the Palouse Choral Society. These updates reflect our overall growth and evolving identity as we prepare for Season 27:
Symphonic Choir: Formerly known as the Chorale, this new name celebrates our ensemble nearly doubling in size and our frequent collaborations with orchestras to perform both classic and contemporary works. To put this growth in perspective, our most recent concert featured nearly 120 singers, compared to around 55 singers at our 20th anniversary performance.
Youth Choir: Formerly the Children’s Choir, this update provides a more inclusive and modern title for our student singers in grades 4–8.
Chamber Choir: This group will retain its current name, which continues to accurately describe our select adult ensemble composed of auditioned members from the Symphonic Choir.
